New Girls Youth Director

PSC Proudly Introduces…

Alexis Smith as Girls Youth Director

Alexis Smith, a recent graduate of BGSU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, joins PSC as the first Girls Youth Director.  Alexis will immediately be focused on the development and growth of the girl’s side of PSC while also being an additional goalkeeping training resource for the club.

Alexis is currently the 2nd Assistant Coach for the BGSU Women’s Soccer team.  Prior to earning the 2nd Assistant position with BGSU, Alexis was a volunteer assistant with the team working primarily with the goalkeepers.  In addition to her role with BGSU, she had been coaching with the Bowling Green Soccer Club since 2015 where she served as the Assistant Director of Coaching.

In the summer of 2016 Alexis also played in the WPSL for a semi-pro team, the Cleveland Ambassadors.

As a player, Alexis was a goalkeeper at BGSU from 2014-16.  In her time competing for BGSU, Alexis saw action in 10 matches across two seasons and totaled 346:18 minutes on the pitch for the Falcons. Alexis registered 23 saves in goal, including a career-high of nine versus Western Michigan in Oct. 2015.

Prior to Bowling Green, Alexis played two years at Schoolcraft College in Michigan, where she posted a 0.18 goals against average in two seasons by allowing just one goal with 29 saves. Alexis’s defensive leadership raised the Ocelots to a 13-2-1 overall record in her sophomore campaign, ultimately leading to the Region XII regular season title. A multi-sport athlete, Alexis also lettered in basketball, and averaged 10.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game to earn All-Eastern Conference Team Honorable Mention honors.

In four years at Franklin High School, Alexis was a four-time All-Conference selection and earned All-Region First Team honors in her senior season of 2012. Smith also earned a total of 10 letters during her time at Franklin High, spanning soccer, golf and basketball, all sports in which she served as team captain.

Please join me in welcoming her to our club beginning in June 2017.

Thank you.
